What was your job for this project?
My job as a designer was to create a vintage tee for Urban Outfitters that not only accurately portrayed the company I was designing but would be desirable to people today.
What was the design process you took to complete the project? Please list your steps below.
-Plan what type of imagery for my company
-Make a flat design on AI
-Ensure that the positive and negative space portrayed what I wanted
-Cut the design
-Weed out negative space
-Heat press the design to my shirt
What did you find most challenging about your design?
Since I created a design with numerous intricate lines the shape building of the process created a problem. I had to do a lot to ensure that the design was cut as I intended it to be. And after that weeding those fine lines also proved to be a challenge.
If you can change one thing about your design what would you change?
I would probably change the font I used for Est. since when it was cut it came out delicate and made it difficult to keep it intact.
What do you think makes a good graphic t-shirt design?
A graphic tee represents what it is saying well while still being fashionable. Overall it is a shirt that you want to wear that says something either about a brand or who you are as a person.
