What is a letterform design?

A letterform design is …

In the singular, a letter form (or letterform) is defined as the shape of a letter used in typography, calligraphy, paleography, and epigraphy. Letterforms, then, are multiples of typographic elements, including not just letters, but also numerals, symbols, and punctuation

What was your job as the designer?

My job as the designer was…

To achieve the goals of each singular box within requirements of colors and themes to provide an aesthetically pleasing design. The designs should also look good together as a whole and go on to provide aspects of the basics of design.

What were some of the challenges you faced during this project?

Some of the challenges I faced during this project would be…

Some of the limiting requirements (only one letter, 2 colors per box, etc.) proved to be issues for me. I found that sometimes I would have an idea but couldn’t complete it the way I wanted to due to those restrictions. Also I found that I often like things symetrical or centered but the designs often looked better after things were skewed slightly.

Do you feel you successfully completed the project? Why or why not?

I feel that I…

Completed the project to the best of my abilities and correctly achieved the goals of each box. However, I think some of my boxes could’ve been stronger or cleaner if I had more time to work on them.

If you can change something about the project what would it be and why?

One thing I would change…

I felt that my 3rd box didn’t look as strong as some of the others and could still use some tweaking. I’d also love it if we were given the oppurtunity to do a box of our choice because I think the outcomes would be really interesting.
