How do you believe your design relates to the corporate Identity of your company?
I believe my design relates to the corporate identity in the fact that Sephora is known as a company that retails all different brands, shades and types of makeup. The use of the lipstick in my design as the lights ties in to the companies’ goals of selling makeup.
How does your bag portray the “holiday”?
For the relation to the holidays I used the style of “Christmas” or holiday lights to create a glowing look that ties in with the brand. The lipstick wraps around to create unity of the bag while still making that holiday representation with the lights.
Do you think that the company you designed for would really use your bag? Why or why not?
I do think that Sephora would actually use thus bag since it uses their usual style of a black bag with stripes and white text while still adding that holiday theme. Their holiday bag for the season gave me more of a valentine’s day vibe so I think if they went with a design like this one it would be better suited.
What makes your bag Unique and Different?
The uniqueness comes in from the simplistic idea but the subtle addition of that holiday spirit. Without the traditional red and green look it uses a low-key design to give it the holiday feel without being overkill.
Describe the process in which you took to create the bag? (From beginning to end)
Research into the current Sephora bag
Idea making (creation of two designs but I chose the stronger one)
Start creating the bag design in Illustrator
Creating the lipsticks that will be used on the string of lights in Illustrator
Arranging the lipsticks on a wire and adding glow to make the “shine”
Adding the text or logo
Adding the white stripes horizontally on the bags side

Cutting the glitter inside to make it equal to the bags printout
Folding and securing the bags shape
